G503 Series Description
True RMS measurements
The benefit of TRUE RMS for the end user is that a higher
overall level of accuracy can be guaranteed, not only with the
applied test values, but the recorded test results as well.
Advanced microprocessor control
The microprocessor controller employed throughout the G503
series, has been designed to provide the operator with a safe,
easy to use interface. All programming is carried out via the
front panel mounted keypad, and information is displayed on an
easy to read, high contrast Vacuum Florescent Display.
Four-wire measurements
Use of four-wire measurement circuitry, ensures that all
measurements recorded at the point of test will be accurate,
irrespective of lead length impedance.
Line/Load regulation (constant
output)
To ensure 100% accurate testing and repeatability, the G503
has been designed to deliver a constant test output, for a
given test value, even when there are fluctuations or
variations in mains supply. The line/load regulation tracks
the test output closely to the set value, within the
compliance range of 198Volts to 254Volts.
Test limit trips
The G503 series incorporates both upper and lower trip
levels, for each test, where applicable.
ARC detection
Arc detection has been incorporated to protect against an
instantaneous leakage current exceeding the set limit.
Speed of testing
When testing Class I or Class II products, the G503 will
provide a fast, automated solution to testing on the
production line, with the minimum of operator intervention.
AC and DC Flash testing
The G503 offers both AC and DC flash testing within the
one instrument, thus making it far more cost effective than
alternative testers.
Ramp and dwell timing
This allows the user to program times for ramping up,
dwell and ramping down, with respect to the applied flash test
voltage. All the values are programmed via the front panel
keyboard. This feature is particularly useful for testing
sensitive products that could be over stressed by traditional
impact voltage testing. It is worth mentioning that the
product under test is completely discharged of any residual
test voltage. During the test cycle, progress is graphically
monitored and displayed on a real time bar graph.
Interface connection
The G503 features three separate RS232 ports. These can be
used to provide output to a serial printer, a PC or network
connection, or data storage devices. The G503 series also
incorporates an external I/O port. |
